Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Presents a Selby Instructors’ Showcase

(Sarasota, FL, June 16, 2009): The 4th Annual Selby Instructors’ Showcase exhibit will be on display in the Museum of Botany and the Arts at Selby Gardens now through September 27, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This exhibit showcases Selby’s talented art instructors and classes that are offered throughout the year at the Gardens.  You will also have the opportunity to visit with the instructors and watch demonstrations most Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
As one of America’s most renowned botanical gardens, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens offers classes throughout the year on various plant care and gardening related subjects.  In addition to the prestigious Academy of Botanical Arts; which offers a certificate program in Botanical Illustration, additional class subjects include Beading, Color Theory, Decoupage, Gyotaku (fish printing), Ikebana (flower arranging), Journal-Making, Nature Printing, Nia Dance, Paper-making, Plein-Air Oils, Watercolor Painting, Photography, Silk Painting, Sumi-e, Tai Chi, Wreath-making, Yoga and more.
