 Selby Gardens Presents the ‘All New’ Plant and Garden Festival

Sarasota’s original Plant and Garden Festival returns but with all new festivities

             [January 18, 2011, — Sarasota, Fla.]  Marie Selby Botanical Gardens presents the 36th Annual Plant and Garden Festival, February 26 and 27, 10am to 5pm.   This ‘all new’ event will be a plant collector’s paradise.  Exotic species of orchids, bromeliads, ferns, palms, flowering trees, native plants, herbs, tropical fruit plants, succulents, aquatics, and more will be available for purchase.  Be the envy of your neighborhood by purchasing your own ‘Selby quality’ exotic plants or choose from over twenty of Florida’s best plant vendors.  Unusual garden accessories, yard art, and many unique offerings will appeal to the green thumb shopper.  

Special reduced admission to the Gardens - two days only!  Admission to the Plant and Gardens Festival is $9.00 for adults, children 11 years old and under and members enter free. Our live music concerts features ‘SoulRcoaster’, rhythm and blues, contemporary and soul on Saturday and ‘Project SRQ’ smooth jazz and R&B with a kick on Sunday from 1-4pm.   There will be cooking and gardening demonstrations and children’s potting activities.  Take advantage of our free horticulture demonstrations and expert gardening advice from numerous master gardeners and of course enjoy a stroll through our tropical oasis.  

This year’s Plant and Garden Festival features the 43rd annual Ikebana exhibition and Kimono display in the Museum of Botany and the Arts.  Enjoy spectacular Ikebana arrangements and demonstrations plus the Kimono display and ‘Ginza’ salesroom. 

Purchase your tickets at the Welcome Center the day you choose to attend.
