Pinzón is currently a graduate student at the Yucatan Center for Scientific Research in Mérida, Mexico. He will be at Selby Gardens for one month under the supervision of Bruce Holst gathering information and studying our collection of bromeliads, widely considered to be the best in the world. His specialty is a group of species in the genus Tillandsia, which includes the giant wild pine (T. utriculata), Florida’s largest native bromeliad.
