Selby Gardens CEO Rominiecki Chosen for Incoming Class of Leadership Florida Cornerstone Class

The nine-month program brings together a diverse group of executives from across the state.

SARASOTA, Fla., July 21, 2017 – The President and CEO of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens has been named to the Leadership Florida Cornerstone Class XXXVI.

Jennifer O. Rominiecki joins the select group of experienced leaders from across the state involved in a wide spectrum of Florida’s industries who are committed to building a better state for all citizens.

“I am honored to be a part of this class and program. And, I’m even more thrilled to be able to learn about and experience so much more of our state,” Rominiecki said.

Rominiecki assumed her role at Selby Gardens in February 2015 and became a Sarasotan along with her husband and two sons after relocating from New York. Prior to that she served in senior positions with The New York Botanical Garden for 15 years. She also held key positions with the Metropolitan Opera and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Rominiecki currently serves on the boards of the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County and the Science and Environment Council of Southwest Florida. She was recently selected for and completed the Women’s Leadership Forum at Harvard Business School in June 2017.

Leadership Florida’s Cornerstone Class is a nine-month educational program that consists of five two and three-day sessions held in cities throughout the state. These sessions include programming on issues critical to Florida, leadership skills assessment and training, and relevant information on Florida’s history, demography, diversities, and opportunities.
