Selby Gardens is an ideal setting for corporate events, private parties or weddings. Our 10-acre property, proximately located nearby resorts and hotels and conveniently close to downtown shopping, dining and business facilities, provides an urban oasis that will give you and your guests the feeling of getting away from it all.

Plan a beautiful event or wedding surrounded by the lush beauty of our tropical gardens. We offer a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for small intimate gatherings or meetings up to extravagant affairs for hundreds along the idyllic Sarasota Bayfront.

With onsite catering available along with an extensive selection of our partners who represent the most respected caterers and event planners in the region, we can help you arrange the perfect event for any budget or occasion.

The Mansion

The Christy Payne Mansion (also known as the Museum for Botany & the Arts) is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers a showcase setting with a variety of room types and sizes for any function or occasion. The first floor is ideal for small receptions or dinners and is available for rentals after 5:00PM. There are two main rooms, two sun porches and an outdoor patio area. On the second floor there are three small meeting rooms, ideal for conference-type engagements which can be reserved Monday-Friday during the hours of 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

With 60-feet of plate-glass windows offering show-stopping views of Sarasota Bay, this location can serve a variety of purposes and has a full complement of multi-media, internet capabilities and A/V set ups. Ask a Selby Gardens Event Associate for assistance with table and seating arrangements as well as florals or centerpieces. Great Room is open for private rentals seven days a week (based on availability) between the hours of 7:30AM and 4:30PM.

Whether your event is suited to an informal sit down reception, needs the space and openness of our expansive and majestic Great Lawn or would benefit from an idyllic rainforest surrounding, our outdoor facilities are adaptive to your needs. Outdoor venues are only available outside normal Gardens’ operating hours beginning at 5:00PM but can be booked seven days a week on a space available basis.

All event and rental contracts incur a minimum $150.00 staffing fee. Staffing fee is based on guest count and type of event. Prices do not include 7% sales tax.

*The Great Room by The Bay can be reserved as back-up for your event for an additional fee of $1,500.

$500 security deposit is added when catering is involved.

For non-profit organizations, you must have a current Sales Tax Exemption form to receive sales tax exemption.
