DESCRIPTION:Environmental Photojournalism is journalism that uses images to tell a story about one aspect of nature or speak to the relationship between humans and the planet. In this introductory photography class, expose yourself to the intersectionality of art and science, and how it differs from traditional photography styles. You will learn how to capture active images in nature that are not staged or controlled, and build a story about the ecosystem around us.\nStudents may use any photographic equipment they choose. Open to all ages/skill levels. General admission is included in the course fee.\nThere is no specific photography equipment required for this workshop. Bring whatever type of camera you are most comfortable handling. The instructor is prepared to work with your preferred equipment, build the lesson around individual skillsets, and teach applicable techniques to all audiences.\nLocation: Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Downtown Sarasota Campus\nClass Fee: Members $64/Non-members $69\nClass Size: 20 Students\nInstructor: Carlos Matthews\nRequired Supplies: Students will need to bring their own camera.\nMaterials Fee: All other supplies are included in class fee.\n
