DESCRIPTION:Join us for a hands-on workshop designed for anyone eager to explore the art of botanical illustration and painting! Perfect for beginners or experienced artists who are new to botanical watercolor painting. No prior experience or materials needed—just bring your enthusiasm!\nThis class focuses on foundational techniques to bring the beauty of orchids to life in a fun and approachable way.  You will learn essential watercolor techniques, including washes, blending, and layering. You will also explore tonal values to capture light and shadow and to capture the delicate textures and vibrant colors of orchids.  Tips on drawing will be provided, but this is not a drawing-focused class—tracings will be available to help participants jump right in!\n\nGeneral admission is included in the course fee. We encourage you to come early and enjoy the Gardens before class.\nAll materials and supplies for this workshop are included in the tuition. If you have your own preferred materials, you are welcome to bring them.\nYou may spend time both indoors and outdoors. Please check the weather and wear or bring any items you will need to be comfortable in an outdoor setting.\n\nCris Godoy is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in Architecture and a passion for botanical watercolor. Born in Brazil and now based in the U.S., she draws inspiration from urban and natural landscapes, exploring them with the curiosity of a traveler.\nHer process begins with on-site sketches and watercolors that evolve into mixed-media paintings, blending spontaneity with thoughtful composition. Constantly seeking new perspectives, her art reflects a journey of discovery.\nCris also leads botanical watercolor workshops, sharing her expertise with artists worldwide.\n
