SUMMARY:Intro to Oil Painting en Plein Air
DESCRIPTION:Oil paints can be a more complex yet stunning medium to work with when painting alla-prima (wet-on-wet techniques) in the open air! Artists’ oil colors are made by mixing dry pigments with linseed oil, meaning oil paints dry slowly. With oils you can enjoy the luxury of being able to tweak, soften, and blend your work, creating beautifully unique paintings. In this class you will learn about the essential painting tools, materials, and techniques for oil painting while you paint alongside the instructor during a step-by-step demonstration in the gardens. This class is suitable for beginners and anyone looking to further their skills in creating art with oils. \n \n\nGeneral admission is included in the course fee. We encourage you to stay and enjoy the Gardens after class. \n\n\nAll materials and supplies for this workshop are included in the tuition.  \n\n\nYou will be painting outdoors. Please bring water and any items you will need to be comfortable in a shaded outdoor setting. \n\n\nPlease check in at the Welcome Center at 10 a.m. for a 10:15 a.m. start time. \n\n
