Botanical Illustration: Composite Flowers & Their Features

March 29 2019 · 10:00am  – 5:00pm

The Composite family of flowers once outnumbered all other plant families. Today is surpassed by the Orchidaceae family. This beautiful family of flowers includes many sizes and is diverse and widespread. Join Academy of Botanical Founder Olivia Braida for a day of exploring this beautiful family of flowers. The workshop will begin with a slide presentation, a short lecture, and proceed to working with your own selected plant. Learn how to identify this distinctly different type of plant, represent their features, and how to portray their structures correctly in your drawings and paintings.
