This will be a beginner’s intro to the science of Botany. The purpose is to make botany accessible to everyone. You’ll get to know some of the tips and tricks to basic plant identification using the patterns, or families, method of identification. Once you start noticing how plants are related, it’s easier to recognize them. Plants in the same family are often edible or medicinal in similar ways. We’ll talk about basic flower and plant anatomy and introduce you to some helpful descriptive words. Then we’ll get some real world experience, identifying plants in the gardens. This is your chance to delve a little deeper into your study, getting to know what the plants are really about and resources to help you along the way. This is an indoor and outdoor class.
