In each of these classes you will learn fascinating facts, history, stories of the plant world interaction with humans, the world of fragrances, and make and take home essential oils that will delight you. Monastic Gardens of Old and Simple Remedies We Can Use Now
Charlemagne decreed around 800 AD that all the monasteries and estates under his extensive reign in Europe should grow eighty-nine herbs and trees. These remedies where the basis of health and wellbeing which included Lilies and Gallica Roses, along with Coriander, Dill, Fennel Juniper berries, Mint and Rue. The medieval monastery herb gardens, or herbariums, contained aromatic plants intended to nurture the soul and provide herbal remedies. We will look at these powerful remedies through their plant constituents and make our own to take home and utilize these powerful natural medicines for our own use; nourishing the soul and providing the healing aspect that rebalances the body.
