Eco-Printing Flowers and Leaves

March 1 2019 · 10:00am  – 4:00pm

This is an exciting way to reveal colors of flowers and leaves by means of hot water and steam! Bundles of flowers and leaves with sheets of paper and or silk scarves are “cooked” In large pots filled with hot, steamy water. The fun is in opening the bundles to see what colors were transferred! The papers with prints will be assembled into a book form and participants will also have a very uniquely printed silk scarf. Papers and silk scarves will be provided as well as plant material. However it is fun to try different leaves (fresh or dried flat) brought in by students! Students should bring apron or work shirt and sack lunch. Fresh or dried flowers or leaves optional.
