Multi-Sensory Earth Day!

This Earth Day, engage with nature using all of your senses: taste, touch, sight, smell, and hearing. Join us for a variety of fun and engaging activities to expand your appreciation for nature!

This interactive, outdoor learning experience is open to all ages and is produced in partnership with Lighthouse Vision Education Center and Suncoast Science Center / Faulhaber Fab Lab.

Hands-on, sensory-oriented activities include:

SIGHT: Use binoculars and magiscopes to look up close and far away.

SMELL: “Guess the scent” challenge featuring different types of essential oils.

HEARING: Play a “match the sound” game.

TASTE: A “guess the taste” blindfolded challenge featuring a variety of fruits.

TOUCH: “Guess the object” challenge featuring a mystery box! See if you can identify the objects inside.

There will also be a special color changing experiment using Butterfly pea flower plants and make-and-take arts and crafts.

Guests are invited to explore the Butterfly House at our Historic Spanish Point campus and participate in a plant scavenger hunt.

This event is part of the 2023 Suncoast Remake Learning Days festival. This program is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.
