Director of Botany earns editorial appointment to Bromeliad Society International Journal

Officers and Board of Directors of the Bromeliad Society International (BSI) at their most recent worldwide meeting held in Houston, Texas in June 2016. Bruce Holst, Director of Botany at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, is located fourth from the right in the front row.


SARASOTA, FLA. – June 27, 2016: Bruce Holst, Director of Botany at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, has been appointed as an editorial assistant for the Bromeliad Society International (BSI) Journal, a global leader in Bromeliad research, development, and preservation. With more than two decades of experience in epiphytic research, including bromeliads, Holst will prove to be a critical element to the society’s Journal.

Holst currently represents the Florida district on the BSI’s Board of Directors. This diverse Board includes representatives from the Netherlands, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Ecuador, and the United States. For decades, the BSI and its affiliated societies have provided Selby with immense support, which has helped elevate the institution’s goals and mission to new heights.
