Selby Gardens’ receives gift for media center to support virtual programming

Selby Gardens received a generous gift form Deb Kabinoff to launch the Deb Kabinoff Media Center at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens (Selby Gardens). The gift will allow Selby Gardens to continue producing virtual programs to connect with key constituents. The media center will provide the equipment and platforms necessary for producing engaging and professional virtual programs.

“I’ve always been impressed with Selby Gardens’ ability to connect people with their mission,” says Deb Kabinoff. “I wanted to help them be able to continue to offer virtual programs as a way to engage and connect people to the wonders of the natural world.”

Launched in response to the pandemic, attendance to Selby Gardens’ virtual programs such as lectures, special events, school tours, and “Grow Where You’re Planted” monthly virtual videos, to name a few, has nearly doubled that of attendance at in-person programs.

“We are so grateful for Deb’s gift,” says Jennifer Rominiecki, president and CEO of Selby Gardens. “Virtual programming has allowed us to connect with so many more of our members and patrons. It is a natural extension of our programming efforts, and while the pandemic accelerated the onset of the virtual format, with this gift, we will be able to provide this opportunity well into the future.”
