We are pleased to invite you to Selby Gardens’ VIRTUAL Fall Lunch in the Gardens.

While we cannot be together in-person, all attendees will enjoy a delicious lunch while creating a unique floral design led virtually by one of Washington, D.C.’s most sought-after floral designers, Sarah von Pollaro, Founder, of Urban Petals Floral Design.

For sponsors at the $5,000 level and above, lunch and the floral materials will be delivered.  All other sponsor levels and guests using individual tickets will pick up their meal and floral materials the day of the luncheon at Selby Gardens’ Downtown Sarasota campus.

We hope that you will be able to join us once again this year to support Selby Gardens.

Gratefully,

Ariane Dart and Pauline L. Wamsler, co-chairs

Sarah with flowers
Sarah von Pollaro is the founder of Urban Petals Floral Design located in Washington, D.C. She has been passionate about flowers since she began arranging with her grandmother as a young girl. Years later, between semesters at Yale University, she apprenticed with two top designers in Manhattan who had been trained by the renowned French florist, Christian Tortu.

Sarah’s floral designs have adorned the Kennedy Center, the State Department, the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, Smithsonian Museums, and multiple embassies, galas and events. She has been honored to help with special events at the White House. She has been awarded Doer of the Week by Martha Stewart as well as opened the inaugural Macy’s Flower Show in Washington, D.C. Sarah’s expertise has been featured in Daily Candy, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Southern Living Magazine, and many other publications.

Sarah has been likened to Julia Child as she demystifies the classical art of floral arranging and has filmed a special on the subject for PBS. She is also privileged to teach at the Smithsonian.
