Historical Briefing: Treasures of the Historic Spanish Point Campus – White Cottage

The White Cottage at the Historic Spanish Point Campus is one of the oldest surviving landmarks in Sarasota County.  In its 140 years history, it has been a winter resort, a post office, a guest house, a private home, and now the location of our Bayfront Cafe.  Why was it built in the first place?   How much of the building is original?   Why is it called White Cottage?   Learn the answers to these questions and more as we explore the history, renovation and current role of this important Sarasota landmark.  This illustrated virtual lecture will be presented by Vice President for Regional History John McCarthy, at noon on Wednesday April 23rd , 2025.
