Introduction to Acrylic Painting en Plein Air

Water-based acrylics are a wonderful medium for landscape painting in the open air! Painters of all levels can fall in love with these portable, fast-drying, and easy-to-clean-up alternatives to oils. This class is designed for beginners and anyone looking to further their skills in creating art with acrylics. You will learn about color mixing, complementary colors, atmospheric perspective, value, and proportions as you paint alongside the instructor during a step-by-step demonstration in the gardens. 

• General admission is included in the course fee. We encourage you to stay and enjoy the Gardens after class. 

• All materials and supplies for this workshop are included in the tuition.  

• You will be painting outdoors. Please bring water and any items you will need to be comfortable in a shaded outdoor setting. 

• Please check in at the Welcome Center at 10 a.m. for a 10:15 a.m. start time.
